The Research Nurse position at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board in Merthyr Tydfil focuses on ensuring the well-being of research participants, including patients and staff, throughout the research process. The role involves supporting participants in accordance with research protocols and relevant legislation, as well as assisting in the operational management and delivery of both commercial and non-commercial research projects. Collaboration with a team of research professionals is essential, with responsibilities including participant identification, screening, informed consent, and conducting clinical procedures as needed. A strong motivation for research and the ability to potentially communicate in Welsh are desirable attributes for applicants.

The post-holder will play a crucial role in meeting Key Performance Indicators set by the Welsh Government and will be expected to provide specialist guidance to potential participants to facilitate the informed consent process. The post holder will be involved in ensuring that any research undertaken within the University Health Board safeguards the well being of the research participants, to include patients, staff and control subjects. This will involve supporting participants through the research pathway, in accordance with the research protocol and relevant legislation. . The postholder will support the Assistant Director for R&D and the R&D Manager in meeting the Research and Development Division, Welsh Government Key Performance Indicators and Metrics.

Working as part of a well established team, the post holder will be involved in ensuring that any research undertaken within the University Health Board safeguards the well being of the research participants, to include patients, staff and control subjects. This will involve supporting participants through the research pathway, in accordance with the research protocol and relevant legislation.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and well organised individual with a passion for research and a keen interest in developing and supporting collaborative commercial and non commercial research within the University Health Board. The post holder will be working as part of a well established team of research nurses, officers and assistants to support the set up and delivery of research across the UHB.
