The Workwell Programme Accountant is a crucial role within the ICB, responsible for leading the financial management of the Workwell Programme, a two-year initiative valued at £3.2 million aimed at helping people with health conditions return to work. The post holder will ensure robust governance structures, accurate financial reporting, and effective budget management to maximize the programme's benefits and demonstrate value for money.
The postholder will establish criteria for applying for and awarding grants, coordinate multi-agency communication, and ensure compliance with internal audit standards. They will work with the ICB oversight team to evaluate the programme's financial benefits, liaise with other Workwell leads, and provide regular financial updates to the senior team. The role involves full budgetary management, approving invoices, establishing funding flows, and ensuring accurate month-end and year-end forecasts. Additionally, the postholder will support the System Financial Sustainability team with ad hoc projects and deputize for team members as needed.
