An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Facilities Supervisor to join the operational Facilities Management team at The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
We are looking for a self motivated and enthusiastic person with previous supervisory experience who would like to be part of a high performing management team. The post holder will supervise a team of support service assistants in delivering excellent cleanliness standards, housekeeping and domestic services.
The Facilities Team provides a professional in-house service which plays a key role in the Trust's overall performance which is reflected in our values and behaviours.
Based at Dewsbury Hospital, we have 1 part time post. The shift patterns will be as follows;
15 hours per week working Thurs - Fri from 06:00am - 14:00pm.
The Facilities Supervisor will be responsible for leading the daily delivery of an efficient and effective customer focused quality service in accordance with the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness.
The scope of the service involves the supervision of a team of Domestics and Housekeepers for the delivery of the service.
You will have the ability to plan, act and monitor your own and your team's performance and need to be adaptable, self-motivated, set clearly defined and achievable individual, team and operational goals.
You will work collaboratively with key partners, support the clinical teams and establish and maintain good working relationships. You will have clear lines of communication with Line Managers, Clinical Managers, Teams, Trust Staff, external organisations and the public.

- Delivering the Service - on a daily basis Supervisors will be required to identify and respond to user needs and to solve problems/complaints as and when they arise. This will require effective liaison with other staff groups, particularly nursing and actively seek constructive feedback on service provision. The Supervisors role covers a range of services within facilities.
- To train, monitor and supervise facilities staff in all the elements of their role.
- Supervisors are required to work with staff teams and to carry out domestic and housekeeping duties to cover the needs of the service.
- A Supervisor will be required to have the knowledge and technical ability to be able to undertake and teach staff the skills necessary to complete service delivery.
- Support the Trusts Health and Safety Policy ensuring staff are trained to ensure the safety of staff visitors and patients within their area of work.
- Monitor areas of responsibility to ensure service standards are consistently delivered in line with National Cleaning Standards. Taking remedial action as necessary.
- Monitoring of catering services at ward level to ensure compliance with the Trusts food safety documentation and current food safety legislation as highlighted in the Trusts food services policy and the ward catering procedures.
- Actively support the reduction in food wastage.
- To support the Team Leaders in ensuring equipment used to deliver the service is of the standard required and is maintained to physical and technical standards.
- To inform Team Leaders of the ordering requirements to maintain sufficient stock levels to deliver the service.
- Undertake initial investigation and reporting of untoward incidents and accidents using Datix.
- Completion and returning of Absence Monitoring forms.
- Will be required to take responsibility for ensuring that return to work interviews are completed in a timely manner and that the Team Leaders are informed when an employee reaches the next stage of the Trust Management of Sickness and Absence Policy.
- Checking and countersigning clock cards on a weekly basis in preparation for data entry to the payroll data base.
- Management of annual leave requests in a timely manner.
