The Health and Wellbeing Coach position in Millom with Rethink Mental Illness involves working within an integrated care mental health team at HMP Haverigg to provide Step 1 interventions aimed at supporting the mental health of the prison population. The role includes delivering high-quality mental health support, facilitating self-help and peer support workshops, and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve person-centered recovery outcomes. Responsibilities also feature goal setting with individuals, developing service user forums, engaging with other services, and training Peer Mentors for additional support. The coach will maintain clinical records, contribute to professional practice standards, and participate in risk management. The overarching goal is to promote respect, dignity, and equity within mental health services in the prison environment.

Rethink Mental Illness work alongside Tees, Esk and Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust (TEWV) and Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust to deliver an integrated stepped care mental health service within HMP Haverigg.
You will work alongside the other staff in the mental health team to deliver high quality, mental health support during an individuals time in prison and in onward planning for their release into the community.
