Key responsibilities include providing high-quality project and administrative support, enhancing communication between the program and various stakeholders, coordinating planned activities, managing the team's business operations, and overseeing financial administration tasks. The role also entails organizing meetings and events, maintaining documentation and electronic files, and ensuring the efficient management of team inquiries and correspondence.
You will be joining the National Specialised Commissioning Team on a high profile; complex transformation change programme necessitating dedicated management and oversight including close working with several critical partners, providers, and other stakeholders.
In April 2024 the Cass Review delivered its final report on changes needed to improve NHS services for children and young people with gender incongruence. The Government and the NHS have committed to implementing the Cass Review recommendations.
The programme has made considerable progress to implement the Cass Review recommendations in introducing a fundamentally different model of care and to expand the gender service provision including the first phase of establishing new children and young people's gender services.
You will support the programme, through your administration skills, deliver the following priorities:
- Support the newly opened children and young people's gender services
- Commission additional regional service providers
- Develop a final service specification, making sure this is in line with the recommendations from the Cass Review
- Publish a service specification that defines access into the new children and young people's gender services
- Support the design of new service specifications for adult gender services
You will support the Gender Programme in managing the process for implementation transformational change, and design and implement new delivery models and pathways for specialised services including:
- Providing high quality project, service, initiative and administrative support including information and analysis.
- Acting as a pivotal communication link between the programme and other teams and external organisations.
- Ensuring that all planned activities are co-ordinated effectively.
- Managing the team's business support function, including developing and managing the team's business plan, progress and reporting risk and issue management and coordination of all corporate business returns.
- Providing diary management to the Deputy Director
- Organising and co-ordinating meetings
- Preparing agendas, circulating papers and actions.
- Managing both virtual and face-to-face events.
- Managing team generic inbox ensuring queries are dealt with appropriately and efficiently.
- Receive, examine, process and send documentation and correspondence.
- Maintain electronic files and systems, as required.
- Financial administration including raising purchase orders.
- Propose and develop policies relevant to the role level to support programme activities and processes are efficient as possible.
