Opportunity for X2 FT Staff nurse for 12months Fixed Term We are currently seeking a motivated and committed Band 5 nurse to join our friendly and dedicated Surgical team at Scunthorpe General Hospital. Ward 28 based at Scunthorpe General Hospital is a busy 18 bedded Elective surgical ward for pre and post operative patients undergoing a wide range of surgical procedures in general surgery, colorectal, urology. We also have 2 x 4 bedded high observation bays where patients who have had more complex surgeries/conditions are cared for. We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident nurse with excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and communication skills who will support the ward to maintain high standards of care. This is an exciting opportunity to gain skills in working in acute care of the surgical patient. All applicants should demonstrate a keen interest in care of the surgical patient and previous experience within a surgical setting would be extremely desirable although not essential. Registered Nurse working as part of a ward/department team, responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care Venepuncture, cannulation, catheterisation, administration of medication Pre and post-op care and observation of patients Safe discharge of patients Takes charge of the ward/department. Be personally accountable for your practice and must adhere to the NMC standards Maintain your own professional development through ongoing education and ensuring compliance with mandatory training.
