Band 6: £37,338 to £44,962 a year per annum pro rata  PERMANENT  GOOD SALARY

Are you an experienced critical care nurse with a post registration qualification in Adult Intensive Care nursing? At the Churchill Intensive Care Unit (CICU) we have an exceptional opportunity to work in a nationally renowned centre for specialties such as; Cancer & Haematology; Maxillofacial surgery and one of the largest transplant centres in Europe!

  • Provide holistic patient care which is underpinned by OUH values.
  • Work collaboratively with the patient and their family, to create patient centred care package, promoting active patient involvement.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, carers, and all members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain and develop high standards of nursing care, reflecting the professional nursing practice.
  • Maintain and develop general and specialist knowledge of nursing practice relevant to the Churchill Intensive Care Unit.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner and be a role model to others, in line with The Code (NMC 2.
  • Demonstrate understanding and the ability to perform the role of Unit Coordinator and the responsibilities and demands of this role. To be able to discuss and demonstrate proactive measures to assist in the smooth running of the unit.
  • Assist in the strategic planning of the AICU service by participating in Unit initiatives, completing necessary audits and questionnaires, and providing appropriate feedback.
  • Provide leadership and supervision for junior team members and in the clinical area.
  • Act as a professional representative for Churchill Critical Care at a local, national and international level if required.
