Newly Qualified General Practitioner (ARRS) with Stenhouse Medical Centre in Nottingham
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Newly Qualified GP to join our team for 4 sessions a week. Due to the changes in the ARRS scheme to introduce General Practitioners we are looking to expand our team by seeking a newly qualified General Practitioner to work alongside our practice and PCN staff. This will be fixed term for 6 months with the extension of contract for a further year subject to the national primary care network contract. The candidate we are looking for: Is able to deliver high-quality patient care and stay up to date with clinical developments Will take a fair share in the clinical workload, including participation in the doctor on-call rota, administrative work and home visits on a pro-rata basis. Is keen to integrate into our team and join us for lunch/coffee breaks and meetings About us Job summary: The post-holder will provide high quality holistic care to the practice patient population dealing with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting Clinical responsibilities: The post-holder will be expected, within the agreed job plan, to undertake the normal duties and responsibilities of a GP including: face to face consultations, telephone consultations, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, filing pathology reports and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems Screening patients for chronic health conditions Developing shared care plans with patients Providing counselling and health education Participate in clinical meetings, audits and quality improvement initiatives Referring to other care providers as appropriate Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible) Prescribing in accordance with the local prescribing formulary Other responsibilities within the organisation: Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety A commitment to life-long learning to ensure evidence-based best practice Contributing to the development of computer-based patient records and read-coding patient data Attending training and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.
