The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is offering an apprenticeship for individuals interested in becoming a Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) in Shrewsbury. This role involves working a minimum of 30 hours per week, directly supporting patient care under the supervision of qualified staff on a clinical ward. Eligible candidates must be 16 or older, have completed full-time education, and meet specific residency and training criteria. Throughout the apprenticeship, individuals will have the opportunity to enhance their skills, attend Telford College one day a week, and complete a Health Care Academy for a thorough introduction to NHS operations.

As an apprentice, you'll develop the skills needed to achieve a Healthcare Support Worker Level 2 qualification through on-the-job training and workplace assessments, while adhering to a shift schedule that may include day, weekend, and occasionally night shifts. This position not only offers valuable hands-on experience in a clinical setting but also lays the foundation for a career path toward becoming a Registered Health Care Practitioner.
