The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join their Adult Speech and Language Therapy service, specifically focusing on patients with head and neck cancer in Reading and West Berkshire. The selected candidate will work alongside a team of four clinicians and will be primarily based at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, with responsibilities that include managing a laryngectomy caseload, supporting valve change clinics, and attending MDT clinics at Townlands Hospital. The role involves collaborating closely with multidisciplinary team members, particularly in the context of patients undergoing radiotherapy and managing acute admissions related to head and neck cancer.

This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on patient care through direct therapy provision and participation in various clinics. The successful candidate will be expected to manage their own caseload as identified through MDT pathways and support instrumental assessment clinics, aligning with the competencies developed within the team. This role is part of a committed and respected SLT service within the hospital, dedicated to improving outcomes for patients with complex needs.
