The Designated Nurse Safeguarding Children (Looked After and Care Leavers) role at NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board in Bradford involves leading the safeguarding children’s team and managing Deputy Designated Nurses and Named safeguarding GP. The post holder will work closely with the Director of Nursing and Quality and play a vital role in providing leadership, advice, and guidance related to safeguarding children and care leavers. Responsibilities include offering strategic health service leadership, engaging with various organisations for safeguarding efforts, and ensuring compliance with statutory functions for safeguarding children.

Moreover, the Designated Nurse will serve as a key advisor on safeguarding issues to local partnerships, coordinate rapid reviews related to child safeguarding practices, and ensure that learnings are effectively implemented across the health economy. This role is critical in influencing the strategic development and planning of services for children looked after and care leavers, ensuring that all responsibilities and duties under relevant safeguarding policies are met.
