This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated nursing team. The role includes both working within the inpatient area and a busy Outpatient Dressings Clinic. This is a great opportunity to develop wound care skills as well as joining a team who deliver an excellent nurse led service.
Peanut Ward is a regional referral centre for children who sustained minor to moderate burns injuries, as well as other types of trauma. The service also provides excellent care for children needing Maxillo-Facial and Ophthalmic treatment.The QVH NHS Foundation Trust is an exceptional place to work with the whole organisation focused on the patient and quality care. Caring for pre-op patients, post op patients and dressing clinic patients. Care and preparation of children undergoing plastic surgery or maxillofacial surgery. Care and support of Children with burns injuries in the outpatient dressing clinic. Support of parents whose children are undergoing surgery.
Managing the ward on a day to day basis, leading shifts, preparing for the next shift and supporting junior staff and working alongside management to ensure that safe and quality patient care is provided.

In charge shifts, ensuring the appropriate allocation in relation to skill mix and patient needs, escalating concerns in real time to management and working together to formulate plans to overcome difficulties.

To facilitate workflow and communication within the ward team and larger MDT.
