Band 7: £46,148 to £52,809 a year per annum, pro rata  PERMANENT 
The post holder is responsible for providing expert professional clinical leadership in the nursing management of patients with Rheumatic conditions.

We are seeking a forward thinking motivated person to take on the role of

Rheumatology Nurse Specialist in Biologic Therapy and Connective Tissue Disease You will be based at Eastbourne District General Hospital working cross site in the Conquest Hospital Hastings and undertaking clinics in the Community.

The post holder will contribute to nursing developments within Rheumatology at both local and network level. This post offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference to the patients with Rheumatic conditions their relatives and carers.The successful applicant must have experience in the management of patients with inflammatory arthritis and be passionate about development and improving the patient experience. The candidate must be an outstanding communicator, can demonstrate first rate organisational and multi-tasking skills alongside strong clinical skills.
Key aspects of the role include:
-Ensuring that patients with Rheumatic conditions receive the highest standard of care from diagnosis onwards with an emphasis on providing expert advice and support to patients -and carers, including psychological support.-Managing and advising on the treatment -Providing professional and clinical leadership and expertise in the specialty-Providing nursing and medical educational training, support and care within the Trust and externally.-Working closely with the multi-disciplinary team in respect of audit/research in patients with Rheumatology nurse led clinics



The post holder is responsible for providing expert professional clinical leadership in the nursing management of patients with Rheumatic conditions. The primary function of the role is the assessment, management and co-ordination of the plan of care for patients with Rheumatic conditions under the care of the Consultant Rheumatologists through the effective and efficient use of resources.

The post holder will also act as a point of contact for patients and carers of patients by providing information, advice, education and support, working collaboratively and in liaison with the multidisciplinary team.

Take the lead in collaboration with Consultant Rheumatologists, in the formulation of policies and protocols, which will encourage a unified approach to Rheumatology, across the interface between primary and secondary care.
