The Community Vocational Support Worker role at Barnet, Enfield & Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust offers a unique opportunity to join the North London Forensic Service's occupational therapy and vocational team, which provides support for individuals with mental illness and learning disabilities in both inpatient and community settings. The successful candidate will focus on helping service users access employment and educational opportunities by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and third sector organisations. Responsibilities include developing vocational pathways, facilitating work placement schemes, and fostering skills and confidence to promote community integration and rehabilitation.

In this autonomous position, the worker will address the diverse needs of service users, who may experience psychosis, personality disorders, and challenging behaviors. The role involves attending weekly team meetings, maintaining clear communication, conducting risk assessments, and actively contributing to clinical discussions. The vocational support provided will adopt a recovery-oriented approach, aiming to enhance social inclusion, self-esteem, and personal identity while ensuring that support is tailored to meet the individual aspirations of each service user.
