An opportunity has arisen to join our Bd6 team on the Neuro/Trauma ICU at UHP on our 10 bedded unit.
We are looking for both Jnr Srs/CNs & Advanced RNs at band 6.
For Critical Care nurses who have recently completed the ICU course we are pleased to offer Advanced RN bd 6 posts. In this role you will be on a 2-yr programme to consolidate the skills & knowledge gained on the course, whilst working alongside & supervising Assistant Practitioners in ICU. In the second year you will be encouraged & supported to complete Step 4 leadership competencies and Neuro step competencies, develop skills as a shift leader and at your incremental gateway become a Jnr Sr /CN .
Demonstrably experienced Bd 6s will join our team of Jnr Srs as team leaders. In this role you will take charge of the unit on a regular basis and be recognised as a positive, professional, and motivating role model for junior colleagues,
On Pencarrow patients are admitted with multiple injuries, acute brain injuries, spinal injuries and require multi-system support. We also manage a wide range of GICU patients offering a broad range of experiences. If you are highly motivated and have demonstrable experience as an ICU RN , we would like to hear from you. This will be a new and exciting challenge where you will have the opportunity to develop your management, leadership and clinical skills.
Our ICU team includes a range of specialist ICU nurses; within our education team, research, rehab and embedded ACCP teams.
To be recognised as a clinical expert within the critical care environment, co-ordinating the delivery of high standard nursing care following individual assessment of each patient & implementation of care plans, utilising all resources to provide excellence in practice.
As a Jnr Sister & shift leader you will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of the high standard care we are proud of, acting as an exemplary senior nurse role model. As a team leader you will be recognised as a positive, professional & motivating role model for junior colleagues whilst ensuring a supportive learning environment for continuing education.
To ensure that patients are always cared for in a safe environment & provide expert clinical advice as needed.
To act as deputy to the nominated Senior Sister.
To be responsible for meeting the NMC requirements in line with the Code of Professional Conduct for their scope of responsibility
B6 Advanced RN post - Year 1 and 2
At first Gateway move into Junior Sister post on successful completion of above.
**Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***
