Band 7: £46,148 to £52,809 a year pro rata  FIXED TERM  GOOD SALARY 

This fixed term role will focus on the gait assessment part of the advanced physiotherapists role, using computerized technology, functional assessment, and advice and exercise prescription, as well as working closely with colleagues to further the research agenda of the department.

The Foot and Ankle Orthopaedic team are an MDT comprising consultant surgeons, specialist nursing, podiatry, and physiotherapy colleagues.

The Physiotherapy team comprises a Clinical Specialist, and Specialist Physiotherapist who work as autonomous practitioners as well as alongside the clinical specialist podiatrist. There is also the opportunity to work with physiotherapy colleagues across the wider MSK teams, as well as with the specialist nurse to assess for pre-admission.

There will be a comprehensive training package to support the new post holder, and monthly training sessions for all. The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a regional centre for complex foot and ankle surgery, which provides the opportunity to work with highly specialist clinicians.

Should there be opportunity to extend the role in the future, a wider remit could be explored in line with existing advanced physiotherapists, such as support for pre and post-operative clinics.
