The Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Swindon is seeking a Permanent Rotational Pharmacy Assistant to join their progressive pharmacy department, which emphasises Medicines Optimisation and employs an integrated electronic prescribing system. The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including Pharmacy Technicians, Nurses, and Clerical staff, to provide direct patient care at ward level, engage in Medicines Optimisation, and support the dispensary and stores department while ensuring compliance with clinical standards and legal requirements.

Responsibilities include carrying out general pharmaceutical duties, dispensing prescriptions, maintaining ward stock levels, and managing patient medication assessments. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake in-depth training, achieving a QCF Level 2 in Pharmacy services if they do not already hold a relevant qualification. The role also requires proficiency in using pharmacy IT systems for medication labeling and tracking prescriptions. Candidates should be prepared to meet physical demands such as heavy lifting and possess the ability to work independently while delivering an efficient service in a clinical environment.
