We have an exciting opportunity for Bank Pre-Operative Assessment Nurses to join our Ward team based in Hemel Hempstead. You will join us on a bank basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive hourly rate depending on experience plus benefits.
Your responsibilities will include:
Participate in the delivery of high standards of care to patients and their families.
Take responsibility for the pre-operative anaesthetic and medical assessment of patients undergoing surgery who will be requiring a Local Anaesthetic, Sedation and General Anaesthetic.
Ensure that all necessary investigations and results are collated for the patients’ admission.
Take responsibility for own self-development helping to provide a suitable learning environment and high standards of clinical practice.
To recognise own limitations and seek advice and support from Line Manager.

About the role

About you
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Be a Registered Nurse with post registration relevant clinical course and active NMC registration.
- Experience and knowledge of working in Pre-Operative Assessment with advance assessment skills in a POA or equivalent background.
- Participate and assist in the development of policies, guidelines, and patient information.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively communicate with patients/relatives/carers and all members of the multi-disciplinary team
