END OF LIFE MULTI-DISCIPLINARY NHS
The role of Consultant in Palliative Medicine at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Swindon is a newly established substantive position aimed at enhancing the care provided to patients in their final years of life. The consultant will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver specialized palliative and end-of-life care (P&EOLC) services within the acute hospital and the Intermediate Care Centre on-site. The department values individual support and strives to create a work environment that aligns with the interests and aspirations of its staff. The position entails providing clinical consultations, leading multidisciplinary team meetings, conducting patient reviews, and fostering close relationships with other clinical teams to ensure integrated care.

Candidates should possess entry onto the GMC specialist Register or be nearing completion of their training. The role offers a flexible work schedule, primarily operating Monday to Friday, with additional out-of-hours support through a collaboration with Prospect Hospice.
