The Paediatric Rotation role as part of the Foundation to Advance Clinical Pharmacist Programme at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust involves a year-long secondment designed for pharmacists transitioning from a foundation level (Band 6) to an advanced clinical pharmacist role (Band 7). The programme, which spans 18 months, offers incremental enhancement and aims to develop clinical pharmacy skills across various specialties, including the option to achieve a postgraduate certificate and an independent prescribing qualification.

Based at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital, the pharmacist will be integral to the Women and Children's team, delivering expert patient care, supporting clinical governance, and contributing to process development and evaluation. The role also includes educational responsibilities, such as supervising students and junior staff, and encourages inter-professional learning within the busy NHS environment. Applicants are sought from experienced Band 6 or 7 pharmacists who are self-directed and capable of managing the demands of this key role in a recently merged trust.
