The Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated and organized Plastics Theatre Scheduler for their Plastics Surgery Department in East Grinstead. The role involves scheduling inpatient and day case admissions for plastic surgery and burns, ensuring compliance with NHS targets for waiting times. Key responsibilities include effective management of theatre capacity, liaising with patients, consultants, and other specialties, and handling patient data on the Patient Centre system. The Scheduler will also be responsible for maintaining quality metrics, supporting the training of staff, and ensuring confidentiality and compliance with Trust policies.

In addition to coordinating theatre lists and managing cancellations, the Scheduler will communicate with various stakeholders, including external agencies and interpreters, to facilitate patient care. The position requires strong communication skills and a good understanding of medical terminology related to plastic surgery. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to develop new procedures, support the medical secretary team, and manage junior staff, ensuring the efficient operation of the department.
