If successful in this role, there is a requirement for you to have a standard/enhanced DBS. This will be paid for by the Trust and then deducted from your salary over a period of 3 month.
We have an exciting opportunity for a senior (band 6) Occupational Therapist to join our in-patient therapy team, delivering a service to the DME area. The post holder will have the opportunity to gain experience and develop skills in this area. The team has a therapy office, shared between physio, OT and therapy assistants, which enables blended working. The team are integral to the Trusts' Get Dressed, Get Moving campaign and promote the actions of the Deconditioning Steering Group. The therapy service supports Wirral residents being in the right place, at the right time, utilising the community based Home First service and other rehabilitation services available.
There are opportunities to engage in training and development, innovative practice and service development. The services also support student training and apprenticeships enabling you to contribute to the future of the profession.
You will have professional support for your CPD from Band 7 Therapy Clinical Leads and support from Senior Occupational Therapists from other specialities as required.

- Assesses and treats own caseload of patients / clients in a speciality and maintains associated records.- To have a responsibility for Training & Development of occupational therapy staff, students and other staff groups in this speciality. Supervise less experienced occupational therapists, assistants, apprentices and students.- Participates as a member of the therapy team and the MDT within a specified clinical area.- Has a responsibility re-own CPD and other developmental activities.- Involvement in identifying and carrying out departmental audit, research or service development activity.- Participates in providing 7-day services and extended working day, as required by the service. (Some of our services work on extended hours rotas working between 8 am and 8pm.)
