The Paediatric Staff Nurse position at Wye Valley NHS Trust in Hereford involves providing patient-centered care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating treatment plans within various departments, including the Children's Ward, Children's Outpatient Department, Paediatric Emergency Department, and Paediatric Assessment Unit. The role requires taking charge of the ward in the absence of senior staff, supporting management in their duties, and effectively communicating with patients and families.
Additionally, the Paediatric Staff Nurse will be responsible for mentoring and supervising junior staff and students, demonstrating basic leadership skills, and engaging with ongoing professional development. The candidate should also have an awareness of relevant national and local healthcare issues while contributing positively to the multidisciplinary team environment focused on family-centered care. Various working hours are available for interested applicants.

To promote multi-disciplinary patient centred care and take responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care within Wye Valley NHS Trust.
Role will include working on Children's Ward, Children's OPD, Paediatric ED and PAU
In the absence of senior members take charge of the ward/department on a frequent basis.

- Support the Ward/Departmental Manager and their deputy in the execution of their role.
- Demonstrate effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate basic leadership skills and participate in the education and supervision of all staff and students.

- Demonstrate a valid input to the professional team at Ward/Department level.
