The Specialist Pharmacy Technician (Medicines Management Services) role at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust in Guildford involves participating in the ward-based Medicines Management service to ensure optimal medication care for patients in medical and surgical wards. Responsibilities include conducting medication history taking and reconciliation, assessing patients' own drugs, transcribing medications, checking discharge prescriptions, and providing patient counselling on medication. The position is part of a multidisciplinary team, and the successful candidate will rotate through various specialities while also supervising trainee pharmacy staff.

Candidates should be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and possess good organisational skills, with an ability to problem-solve and work under pressure. Previous experience in medicines management is preferred but not mandatory, as comprehensive training will be provided. Accreditation as a Checking Pharmacy Technician or nearing completion of the course is required for applicants.
