The role of Clinical Pharmacist Rheumatology & Acute Medicine (Band 7) at North Bristol NHS Trust involves providing comprehensive pharmaceutical services to patients in both rheumatology and acute medicine settings. The ideal candidate will work alongside the Rheumatology Consultant and Highly Specialist Pharmacists to manage ongoing pharmaceutical care, support outpatient services for autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, and ensure safe and effective medication use. Responsibilities also include participating in multidisciplinary teams, developing service protocols, advising on cost-effective resource usage, and mentoring junior pharmacy staff.

Additionally, candidates are expected to be either qualified independent prescribers or willing to undergo training in this capacity. They will engage in various activities, including clinical screening of prescriptions, risk management, and adherence to medication protocols. The role encompasses collaboration with healthcare professionals to address outpatient prescribing queries, education of patients and stakeholders, and involvement in continuous quality improvement through audits and data collection. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of pharmacy practice within the rheumatology and acute medicine departments.
