We have an exciting opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our Primary Care team at HMP YOI Moorland, a
category C men's

 Prison and 
Young Offenders Institution, near Hatfield Woodhouse in South Yorkshire.

Within this role you will be working across our South Yorkshire Cluster of prisons which will include HMP YOI Moorland, HMP YOI Doncaster, HMP Lindholme, HMP Hatfield.

Ready to deliver quality healthcare in some of the most challenging environments? The dedicated team in the Health in Justice division of the Practice Plus Group make a real difference across over 45 prisons, young offenders and immigration removal centres.


Hours

37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday. 


Salary

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £53,277 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks

As a Speech and Language Therapist, your responsibilities will vary.

  • You need expert clinical skills and be able to take a holistic approach to patient centred care.
  • Delivering with autonomy a comprehensive speech and language therapy service to your own caseload within the prison, inclusive of a comprehensive specialist assessment and differential diagnosis of all aspects of communication, language, speech, voice, fluency, eating, and drinking for patients referred to the service.
  • Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them
  • You will provide clinical leadership for Speech and language pathway within the prison.
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary team made up of a variety of registered and non-registered professionals including; primary care, mental health, social care, end of life care and substance misuse practitioners.
