The University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Infection Prevention and Control Surveillance Practitioner to join their newly developing surveillance service. This role will support the Infection Prevention and Control Team in implementing a comprehensive surveillance program that aligns with the Health and Social Care Act requirements, aiming to reduce infection rates within the Trust. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with senior health professionals, assist in various monitoring and auditing tasks, and contribute to the effective reporting and application of infection rate data to improve clinical practices.

The position may require travel across multiple UHDB sites, weekend, and bank holiday work as needed. Key responsibilities include supporting the establishment and maintenance of a robust audit program, providing leadership to team members, and actively engaging in continuous quality improvement initiatives within the infection control domain. Ideal candidates should be motivated by the goal of enhancing care quality and eager to participate in the development of a new service focused on data-driven infection control strategies.
