The role requires flexibility to assist with various tasks and trades, ensuring the smooth operation of building services within acute and community healthcare settings. The job will officially transfer to OneLSC, hosted by East Lancashire Hospitals Trust, on November 1, 2024.
Please note, although this role is being advertised by University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, it will transfer to OneLSC a Corporate Collaboration hosted by East Lancashire Hospitals Trust on 1.11.24. There are no plans to change the location of the role.
The Estates department at Royal Lancaster infirmary is a group of highly skilled electrical and mechanical engineers, creative building craftsperson, and dedicated support staff.
We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic person to join us.
You should be experienced, time served and suitably qualified in plumbing and heating, associated maintenance, and plant fault finding.
This is a highly rewarding role. Working under the Mechanical Estates Officer, the successful candidate will embark on a challenging adventure, safely, efficiently, and with patient and staff safety at the heart of their focus.
Working as part of a team, and individually, you will be required to carry out mechanical maintenance and installation work within acute and community NHS properties. This will be on water systems, heating and pressure systems, ventilation, air conditioning, steam production, medical gases, and other healthcare related mechanical services.
The successful candidate must be able to self-motivate, work relatively unsupervised, and be a good communicator on all levels. Flexible working will be required where you will assist other trades and undertake other tasks to maintain the building services.
A healthcare background would be advantageous but not essential - as specific training will be provided.
