The Peer Support Worker role at Second Step in Bristol involves supporting individuals with mental health challenges within the community. The position requires fostering collaborative relationships with service users and mental health professionals to help them navigate and access various services. Successful candidates will utilize their own experiences of recovery, ideally from psychosis and with support from an Early Intervention team, to provide both social and clinical interventions aimed at building resilience and enhancing wellbeing.

Candidates should be innovative, responsive, and possess relevant mental health experience. The role emphasises a Recovery-oriented, psychologically-informed, and equitable approach, with adherence to established policies and legislation. This position is not only about providing support but also about being an active participant in one’s own recovery journey while inspiring hope and courage in others. Training will be provided to effectively draw on personal experiences when assisting service users.
