Band 4: £26,530 to £29,114 a year PRO RATA FOR PART TIME HOURS  PERMANENT  GOOD SALARY

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time, permanent, Medical Secretary within our Respiratory Service. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic person with a flexible approach to provide support to the Respiratory Team ensuring a first-class service is delivered to our patients. The post holder will ensure all administrative processes are followed in providing a streamlined service to our patients, consultants, nurses and external agencies.

The role primarily involves typing correspondence, managing patient appointments, dealing with phone queries, managing clinical diaries and rotas, validating waiting lists alongside other secretarial and administrative duties which contribute to the efficient running of the Respiratory Service. This is a 14.25 hour post

Applicants should possess AMSPAR, OCR, RSA Level 3 or equivalent typing/keyboard qualification or have 2 years proven experience in a similar role. Knowledge of medical terminology and experience in audio typing is essential. Applicants will need excellent organisational skills, a flexible approach to work and possess an empathetic nature to be able to confidently deal with patient queries. Level 2 numeracy and literacy skills are essential to the post and MUST be shown in your application, if these qualifications arent listed in your application, you will not be shortlisted
