An opportunity has arisen on the Hammersmith site to join the physiotherapy team as the specialist physiotherapist for Private Patients. Our friendly department is full of opportunity for a dynamic, enthusiastic physiotherapist who wishes to develop a range of clinical/managerial expertise. The role will offer the opportunity to work with various patient groups including: Gynaecological surgery, Cardiac sciences, Hepatobiliary, Renal medicine and transplant, endocrine, and haemotology. . This role will include the opportunity to develop a pre-op service for patients to expand the Physiotherapy role within Private patients at Hammersmith Hospital.
We are looking for an enthusiastic physiotherapist, with a keen interest in developing and running private patient physiotherapy services, a wide range of clinical experience, good communication skills, interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering excellent patient centred care. You will have the opportunity to develop your specialist skills and knowledge and managerial skills through the delivery and evaluation of a service.
You will have support from band 7 colleagues within other specialities and also Band 8a clinical lead/ specialist physiotherapists and work closely with the well-established multi-disciplinary team. Alongside the clinical case load you will have the responsibilities of supervising student physiotherapists, the day to day service delivery and ensuring a high quality service is developed to these patients.
Private patient services are provided by Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust on all three sites. The service has a mixed caseload of cardiothoracic, urogynane, hepato-biliary surgery, renal and haematology medicine.
The post holder will be responsible for the provision of physiotherapy for these patients. To assess and treat patients requiring physiotherapy interventions including physical rehabilitation, acute respiratory intervention and on-going patient management.
To ensure high quality delivery of physiotherapy and work as an autonomous practitioner, to assess and treat the patients within the service. To promote clinical governance within the treatment of the patients on the private unit through the implementation of high standards of clinical practice, professional development of staff through training and education and undertaking of audit and research.
