The Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a full-time Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist for Learning Disabilities in Shropshire. The role involves providing clinical leadership and support to staff within the Learning Disability Directorate, managing a complex caseload of individuals transitioning from out-of-county placements, and ensuring effective case management. The specialist will also offer clinical advice, supervise nursing staff, liaise with other Clinical Nurse Specialists for coordinated service delivery, and work with operational management to address clinical performance issues.

In addition to overseeing community caseloads and waiting lists, the Clinical Nurse Specialist will work to ensure the quality of care for individuals with learning disabilities meets their needs, adhere to legal frameworks such as the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act, and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings for comprehensive care assessments. The role also includes contributing to the development and implementation of care pathways and promoting best practices across the learning disability services.
