The Specialist Midwifery Ultrasound Practitioner at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for leading the implementation of the Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle element 3 and performing third trimester ultrasound scans independently. This role emphasises quality patient care and safety by providing specialized expertise in fetal surveillance and risk management. The practitioner will produce comprehensive ultrasound reports to guide clinical decision-making, mentor preceptee midwives, and engage in the education of students.

In addition, the practitioner will support initiatives related to the Clinical Negligence Scheme for Trusts and the Maternity Incentive Scheme, ensuring compliance with quality improvement standards. They will collaborate with healthcare professionals, address diverse cultural needs, and advocate for the well-being of patients while recognizing the limits of their competence. The position entails strong commitment to safeguarding vulnerable populations and requires an enhanced DBS check and subscription to the update service upon employment.
