The Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Biomedical Scientist (Band 7) specializing in Haematology and Transfusion to join their accredited laboratory department. The successful candidate will need to be HCPC registered, possess a relevant MSc or Higher Specialist Diploma, and have substantial experience in Haematology and blood transfusion. Responsibilities include supervising and coordinating a team of registered BMS, trainee BMS, and Medical Laboratory Assistants, managing departmental operations, and validating results. This role requires shift work to maintain 24/7 service needs, with a typical pattern of Monday to Friday and some weekend coverage, but without regular night shifts.

The position offers comprehensive induction and ongoing support for professional development. As a senior member of the team, you will ensure adherence to ISO standards and SOPs, maintain and operate laboratory equipment, and oversee staffing and resource allocation to maximize departmental efficiency.
