The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Food Service Team Leader to join their Catering Services Team, working full-time, 37.5 hours per week, primarily Monday to Friday with various shifts. The role involves overseeing daily operations in the Staff Restaurant, Patient Conveyor Belt Service, and Hospitality Service, supporting the Head Chef in managing ward beverage trollies and on-site vending. Key responsibilities include allocating work, training staff, ensuring compliance with hygiene standards, monitoring food temperatures, ordering and receiving stock, and maintaining health and safety regulations.

The successful candidate will hold an intermediate Food Hygiene qualification and be knowledgeable about dietary requirements, including Halal, Kosher, Vegan, and allergen considerations. Additional duties comprise conducting quality checks, ensuring cleaning procedures are followed, and reporting defective equipment. The role demands strong leadership and communication skills as well as a commitment to maintaining high standards in food service and safety. Applicants should be prepared for a DBS check, with associated costs deducted from the salary over the first three months.
