The Activity Co-ordinator/Trainee role at Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust in York involves planning and delivering therapeutic, social, and recreational activities for service users in an 18-bed Acute Mental Health unit for working-age women. The position requires the creation of a flexible timetable of activities that cater to individual patient needs and interests, both on the ward and in the local community. The successful candidates will promote patient independence and confidence, while also ensuring a high standard of patient care in collaboration with the nursing team.

Candidates should possess a good understanding of the link between activity and mental well-being, bringing skills in areas such as art, cooking, or gardening to engage patients meaningfully. While a primary focus will be on activity provision, the role also includes direct patient care and support for community reintegration efforts post-discharge. Those without the necessary qualifications must be prepared to enroll in the Activity Coordinator Framework to attain relevant certificates within two years. The ability to travel independently within the locality is preferred.
