South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a motivated and passionate consultant paediatrician. The post is a substantive post. This post will be based in the paediatric department of South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS foundation trust. The postholder will work as an integral member of the Neurodisability team and contribute to service developments.
The Directorate of Paediatrics offers service across Sunderland and South Tyneside and includes neonatology, general paediatrics, community paediatrics as well as paediatric emergency medicine.
Timetables offer a degree of flexibility in that the type of clinic activity is negotiable as allowed by service needs and the experience and skills of the successful postholder.

The postholder will join the existing team of Disability Consultants, Associate Specialists and specialist nurses.
Overall responsibilities include contributing to the co-ordination and delivery of the strategic and operational aspects of the service across the South Tyneside and Sunderland area. These will reflect national and local priorities including the strategic direction of South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust and the Division of Family Care.
Final job plans will be agreed in discussion between the successful candidates and the Clinical Director and will be subject to Annual Review.
