The "Psychologist - Haemoglobinopathies" role at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in Hackney involves providing psychological support to patients, families, and carers affected by haemoglobin disorders. The position requires the post holder to conduct psychological assessments, consultations, formulations, and therapy treatments while working both in acute and community settings. Additionally, the psychologist will collaborate with the Sickle Cell & Thalassaemia Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) to enhance patient outcomes and manage pain effectively, while also contributing to service development through research and policy initiatives.

In this autonomous role, the psychologist is expected to work within professional guidelines, offer consultation on psychological care to multidisciplinary colleagues, and advocate for patients. There will be a strong emphasis on improving care standards through evidence-based practices, participating in research for service improvement, and leading initiatives that benefit the patient population in City and Hackney.
