Criminal Justice Engagement Worker with Inclusion in Newport
Are you committed to making a positive change and empowering service users to achieve a better quality of life? Do you have an interest in tackling complex or challenging cases, whilst supporting people to reduce drug related harm and offending? We are currently recruiting for an experienced worker to join our criminal justice team within the Isle of Wight. This post is aimed at providing assessment and support for people who are part of the criminal justice system, who also experience difficulties associated with drug use. You will be offering caseload support to the current Criminal Justice Worker and offering information and advice to people who access the service. Job Description subject to change. Full Time Criminal Justice Engagement Worker post, for a period of 6 months. o Work as an integral part of the service in delivering high quality brief interventions to Service Users within the criminal justice system o Work with and support the Inclusion multi-disciplinary team o Facilitate harm reduction interventions including the delivery of Naloxone training to clients, families and partnershipso Supporting service users who are released from custody, as well as supporting service users digitally who are released from other prisons o Contributing to service users working collaboratively to build their recovery capital and ensuring positive recovery outcomes.o Ensuring service users have scheduled appointments and remove barriers to attendance.o Promoting visible recovery to clients within the criminal justice system About us Please see the Job Description and Person Specification for further details, a summary is below: To deliver effective brief interventions To work with service users in attendance and manage day today issues which arise upon release from custody or prisons etc To signpost to local services and empower service users to build their community networks and recovery capital. To promote visible and contagious recovery to service users within the criminal justice systems. To work collaboratively with all service users/partner agencies/stakeholders to identify the barriers that prevent people from all communities accessing a full range of services, including substance misuse mental health wellbeing and primary mental health services. Engage service users into treatment and through their Recovery Journey Complete screening and asset based mapping to identify appropriate recovery focused interventions.
