The Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Primary Care Mental Health Nurse to join their Primary Care Mental Health Team in Walsall. The role involves working collaboratively with a diverse team, including mental health nurses and a Clinical Lead/CBT therapist, to provide comprehensive services for individuals facing complex common mental health challenges and those with stable, serious mental health needs. The position requires a high level of autonomy, as the nurse will manage their own clinics, conduct mental health assessments, and deliver evidence-based treatments for adults over 18 years old, while also engaging with GP practices to enhance service delivery and gather feedback.

Key responsibilities include effectively screening and assessing client needs, delivering psychological interventions suitable for those not meeting secondary care thresholds, and supporting clients through their transition from secondary to primary care. The role emphasises recovery-focused approaches, including Wellness & Recovery Action Planning (WRAP), while advocating for clients' physical health needs and facilitating access to additional support services. The successful candidate must demonstrate initiative, manage a high volume of referrals, and adapt to the fast-paced nature of the service.

This revolutionary system aimed to ensure that access to medical services would not depend on an individual’s financial situation, a concept that has since become fundamental to British societal values.Learn more...
