We are currently looking to recruit a Male Band 3 Health Care Support Worker in Llety Newydd based in Cardiff, in keeping with the positive action provision within the Equality Act 2order to meet Service user need and employee safety.
We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated person with experience of working with people with learning disabilities, mental health issues, behaviours which challenge, complex health needs.
Previous experience in a similar area of work , with knowledge and experience of implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) with individuals who may present with complex behaviours that challenge.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude towards supporting people with challenging behaviour and experience of working effectively within a multi-disciplinary environment.
Candidates would assist in the provision of both personal and health care, contributing to comprehensive treatment plans for each individual.
Candidates would support individuals to access meaningful activities and recognise early warning signs that require care plan intervention.
Candidates must also be able to demonstrate commitment to developing their skills.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Deliver safe, high quality, compassionate care following individualised care plans and treatment interventions determined by the Registered Practitioner. This will include supporting patients with all aspects of the fundamentals of care including activities of daily living, providing feedback on progress against the plans.
Communicates effectively with patients and relatives in a manner which is sensitive to patients, carers and relatives needs. This includes communicating effectively with patients who may have sensory impairment, speech and language difficulties, memory and cognitive impairment, learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.
Maintains clear and accurate patient records relating to patient care and interventions utilising both digital and paper based records.
Works as an effective member of the team, actively promoting good team relationships.
Takes responsibility for attending statutory, mandatory training and work based learning opportunities in accordance with the health board policy and local training needs analysis to achieve compliance with mandatory training.
