The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant in Emergency Medicine for a part-time role (6 PAs) based primarily at Pinderfields and Dewsbury hospitals in Wakefield. This position offers an opportunity for both newly qualified and established consultants to join a diverse team of over 30 Emergency Department (ED) Consultants. The role involves providing high-quality patient care, ensuring prompt assessment and treatment, and offering clinical leadership to junior staff. Consultants will also participate in the development of the Emergency Medicine service, including quality improvement projects and educational initiatives at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Successful candidates will work on a 24-week rotating schedule, covering on-site presence from 08:00 to 00:00, with weekend duty commitments averaging one in eight. The Trust is also planning to introduce night shift work as part of its future staffing strategy. Additional responsibilities include administrative tasks, maintaining collaborative relationships within the healthcare team, and supporting professional activities, with opportunities to adapt the role to match personal interests and service needs.
