The Senior Clinical Fellow role in the newly established Paediatric Emergency Department (PED) at Northampton General Hospital is designed for candidates with experience in Emergency Medicine and/or Paediatrics, looking to take on a leadership position. This role offers a total of 8 positions, available as full-time or part-time, and involves providing middle-grade cover, leading clinical cases, and supervising junior trainees. Successful candidates will be expected to work at an ST3-6 level, registered with the GMC, and will benefit from structured support and educational opportunities, including teaching and quality improvement activities, while working closely with a strong team of consultants and nurses in a supportive environment.

In addition to clinical responsibilities, which cover a range of emergency issues from minor injuries to critical conditions, the role entails participation in teaching and supervision of junior clinical fellows. The department promotes a collaborative atmosphere, ensuring excellent consultant availability for guidance. Candidates can expect to enhance their skills in Paediatric Emergency Medicine as they contribute to meeting national ED standards while pursuing their career growth in this dynamic specialty.
