The Principal Pharmacy Technician role at Sunderland Enterprise Park, within the North East and North Cumbria ICB, focuses on contract support and performance monitoring in the medicines optimisation team. The successful candidate will develop and evaluate QIPP initiatives related to medicines optimisation across the region, oversee the creation of operating procedures and audits, and manage complex prescribing data to inform senior leadership. They will offer specialized advice on new medicines, commission policies, and lead various optimisation projects while engaging with primary care clinicians to promote best practices.

This position also entails providing leadership and training to other Pharmacy Technicians and coordinating the wider medicines optimisation team to achieve project objectives. The role supports the Clinical Director and Deputy Director in achieving strategic goals related to the safe and cost-effective use of medicines across the health economy, with opportunities for hybrid working arrangements.
