Band 5  FIXED TERM  GOOD SALARY 

This is a newly commissioned role aimed at supporting implementation, outcome monitoring and service user satisfaction with behaviour support and active support plans across our sites in England. You will support the deployment of behaviour support and active support plans to service users with a learning disability, living in supported living settings, and promote active implementation of these approaches, working alongside service managers and both NHS and Iris Care Group clinical teams. The role will be based in the Gloucester area. Travel between bases will be frequent. Occasional journeys to South Wales may be necessary.

We are looking for a psychology graduate to fill clinical roles in Iris Care Groups community services, in order to support the delivery of our psychologically minded service provision. For this role you will be required to have a driving licence.

The service has established links with local universities. We host trainee clinical psychologists from the Cardiff Doctorate in.Clinical Psychology and have established links with the Doctorate in Forensic Psychology at the University of Nottingham. The service is actively involved in research, service evaluation and policy development in relation to the provision of psychologically informed services for people with the most complex needs. The department has a good record of assistants securing places on doctoral training and will support you with a personal development plan aimed at supporting doctoral applications.

Research interests relevant to applied psychological science are encouraged current projects include evaluation of patient safety interventions, specialist sensory input for people with autism, adaptations of positive behaviour support for people with an intellectual disability who offend, the development of metrics to measure staff culture in complex mental health environments and the use of generative artificial intelligence to support clinical practice in tertiary mental health settings.

To work independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified Clinical psychologist and within the overall framework of the teams policies and procedures.

To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and / or research projects, teaching and project work.
