As a valued member of the Care team, you will join a unique and vibrant team providing symptom management, palliative and end-of-life care, as well as planned and emergency short breaks both at the hospice and in the community. As a Haven House Senior Nurse, you will support the wider team to ensure high standards of holistic care are delivered.
In return, we will support your wellbeing and offer you a learning environment to develop your skills and competencies in paediatric palliative care, supported by our Nurse Practice Educator.
This role is based at our beautiful woodland hospice in Woodford Green, offering free parking and easy access from the Central line.

Job summary
To work as part of the Integrated Care Team providing symptom management, palliative and end-of-life care, as well as planned and emergency short breaks both at the hospice, in the home or hospital. The postholder will take on a lead role to support work required to ensure high standards of care are delivered and maintained. The post holder will be required to work a variety of shifts as the hospice provides care services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Clinical
Work collaboratively with other team members:
1. To contribute to the evaluation the service as required ensuring that children, young people and family's views are represented.
2. To be aware of allocated resources and ensure effective time management in own role.
3. To promote good relationships and good working practice across teams.
Clinical Governance
1. To participate in audit, service user feedback collection and research as required.
2. To report all clinical and non-clinical incidents and accidents and engage in incident reviews as a learning opportunity in order to improve service.
3. To constructively identify issues with care strategy, policies and procedures in the interests of the organisation and users of the service.
Educational
Other duties
1. To promote and live the Haven House values of Compassionate, Professional, Respectful and Safe.
2. To work with colleagues across the hospice as part of the Haven House One Team approach.
3. To conduct yourself in line with the Haven House cultures and behaviours at all times, acting as an ambassador for the hospice.
4. To contribute towards a culture of continuous improvement to help drive our service to Outstanding.
5. To offer flexible support for the work of the organisation, with a flexible approach to new duties and responsibilities as needed to support our vision, mission and values.
