The role of Specialist Psychologist with the FIND Community Team at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust involves delivering specialist psychological services to support individuals transitioning from inpatient forensic services to the community. Key responsibilities include providing assessments, treatments, and consultations for clients with mental illness, offending histories, and learning disabilities, including those with neurodevelopmental disorders. The psychologist will manage a small caseload and work closely within a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), ensuring a psychologically safe environment while providing supervision and support to other team members. Additional tasks include promoting service evaluation, engaging in research and policy development, and offering culturally appropriate interventions for clients and their families. The role requires autonomous practice within professional guidelines and aims to improve patient care and outcomes in collaboration with other forensic services.
