The Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 8A Senior Practitioner Psychologist, with the possibility of a Band 7 Preceptorship for candidates with two years of post-qualification experience. The role is a permanent, part-time position (0.8 wte) based at Northcroft in Erdington, within the North Acute Inpatient Service. The successful candidate will join a diverse team focused on delivering psychological support across acute wards for both male and female patients. Key responsibilities include conducting psychological assessments, delivering brief interventions, consulting with multidisciplinary teams, and engaging in teaching and training activities. The position also offers the opportunity to contribute to various projects aimed at addressing health inequalities and fosters professional development through in-house and external continuing professional development (CPD).

The role emphasises collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, including service users and experts by experience, to co-produce workshops and improve service delivery. The psychologist will be supported in enhancing their clinical leadership skills and developing strategic leadership abilities, ensuring a comprehensive approach to mental health care that values innovation and inclusivity.
