Furness Community Mental Health Team-Part Time 22.50 hours per week
An opportunity has arisen to recruit a motivated and committed individual to take a Principal Clinical Psychologist role within the Furness Community Mental Health Team (CMHT).
The Furness CMHT provides assessment and intervention to individuals with complex mental health needs. The service works closely with service users, their families and other agencies and mental health services. An interest in working with individuals with complex presentations will be essential, as are skills in working within a multidisciplinary framework.
The post is focused on providing a balance of direct and indirect work. With time dedicated to providing individual assessment, formulation and short term intervention to service users. There is also an expectation that the role will also encompass service development, training and consultation work with other professionals.
The post will sit as part of a team of psychologists working within The Bay Network, and the successful applicant will be welcomed as part of a service which encourages the development of specific interests. It is hoped that the applicant would be keen to undergo further clinical training to develop the therapeutic portfolio of the wider service, in line with their own preferred models.

Provide advice and consultation on service users and their families/carers psychological care, working within the policies, procedures and protocols for the service.
To provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and short therapeutic interventions based on evidence based therapeutic models to service users and their families/carers, working as part of the CMHT
To supervise and support psychological interventions to other members of the team who may have varying levels of psychological training and knowledge. To supervise and support psychological assessment and therapy provided by other psychologists.
To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for systematic governance of psychological practice within specific designated areas as agreed
To utilise research and audit skills to support service development and implement policy changes as agreed with the relevant manger.
