The Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking motivated Pharmacy Dispensing Assistants to join their Dispensary Team in Prescot. The role involves the routine labeling and dispensing of prescriptions for inpatients and outpatients, handling controlled drugs, and managing returned medicines. Candidates will also work with ward-based Pharmacy Technicians to provide dispensing services and will participate in the weekend and evening rotas, contributing to a 7-day service.

Successful applicants must have current experience in a pharmacy setting and hold an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or an equivalent recognized qualification. Key responsibilities include accurate dispensing, maintaining safe working practices, handling prescription payments, providing information to patients about their medications, and participating in stock control. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to refer to senior staff are essential for this challenging yet rewarding role.
